My Study of Letterpress Typography

by Juzo Takaoka

This Japanese book is a reprint collection of letterpress works by Juzo Takaoka of the Kazui Press in Tokyo. It features more than 150 pieces he produced during the 1960s and 1990s. The supplement at the beginning of the book is a collaborative work in which Juzo typeset and his son Masao printed by letterpress. (Other pages were reproduced by offset printing.)
Although Juzo says in the preface, eThis book is not something which can be called ga collection of my worksh; rather, it is a collection of letterpress studies by a mere printer specialising in Western typographyf, his works, especially from the 1970s, display his overwhelming typographic prowess. They are definitely masterpieces that should not be missed.
